JopFarm: Integrated Joper Chicken Cultivation of BSF Maggots for Zero Waste Farming
The Biology Education student group, chaired by Dias Rizki, successfully won funding for the Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) and the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, amounting to IDR 10,500,000, in this program Dias Rizki raised business innovation in the cultivation category. This innovation aims to create a sustainable livestock system that is environmentally friendly. By integrating the cultivation of Joper chickens (Jowo Super) with Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots, JopFarm seeks to optimize organic waste as an alternative, highly nutritious feed source for chickens. This system not only reduces livestock waste, but also helps increase production cost efficiency and creates a healthier livestock ecosystem.
“We want to present innovative solutions for farmers so they can reduce waste and maximize productivity in a sustainable manner. “With a zero waste approach, chicken farming can become more environmentally friendly and economical,” said Dias Riski.
With this success, Dias Riski has proven that environmentally based entrepreneurship can be a smart solution for the livestock sector. The hope is that this innovation can continue to develop and provide benefits to many breeders in Indonesia.
